The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla arrived at Vienna on aworking visit.
During his stay, the Cuban Foreign Minister will execute a working program that includes meetings with the Federal Deputy-chancellor and the Federal Minister of Justice, Dr. Wolfgang Brandstetter; Ms. Doris Bures, President of the Parliament, and Dr. Heinz Fischer former Federal President of Austria.
The Cuban Foreign Minister´s visit aims at strengthening the positive relations existing between both countries and broadening the bonds developed in the political-diplomatic and economic-commercial areas as well as in fields of mutual interest such as education, science, and culture.
The Cuban delegation is also composed of H.E. Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios, Ambassador of Cuba to Austria, Elio Rodríguez Perdomo, Director of the Division of Europe and Canada of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Bárbara Elena Montalvo, Chief of the Minister´s Cabinet.
Both countries celebrated in 2016 the 70th anniversary of the ongoing diplomatic relations. The then Federal President of Austria, H.E. Mr. Dr. Heinz Fischer visited Cuba accompanied by a large delegation in March 2016 in the framework of these celebrations.
