Addis Ababa, March 13, 2025.- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla held a meeting with the head of the Coordination Center for the Construction of the Democratic System with the rank of deputy prime minister and vice president of the Prosperity Party, Adam Farah, as part of the official visit of the Cuban delegation to Ethiopia.
Adem Farah, the Party's vice president, said Ethiopia and Cuba have a strong relationship united by blood, reiterating that their diplomatic relations began in 1975.
He said diplomatic relations between the two countries will be further strengthened through people-to-people cooperation and in other areas. He highlighted the importance of the historic ties of friendship and solidarity that unite Cuba and Ethiopia, as well as the valuable collaboration that the island has provided in sectors such as health and education.
For his part, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla said that, "The 50-year relationship between the two countries is at a good level." He also noted that Ethiopia is playing a commendable role in promoting peace and stability in the region and Africa, and reiterated its interest in further strengthening their relations in various fields.
Rodríguez Parrilla stressed that countries must further strengthen their economic relations through trade and investment. He also stressed that they are ready to take relations to the next level in the fields of culture, sports and education.
The Cuban Minister thanked the Cuban delegation for its hospitality and warm welcome.
The meeting ratified the shared will to continue deepening friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
