Kuwait. January 19, 2017. Dr. Marcia Cobas Ruiz, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, was received by Dr. Jamal Mansour Abdullah Al-Harbi, Minister of Health of the State of Kuwait, during her working visit to Kuwait on January 17 and 18 , this year.
For his part, the Kuwaiti minister stressed the professionalism of Cuban health workers and the prestige they have at the international level, expressing his interest in strengthening bilateral ties in this sector.
Cuba and Kuwait signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2012 and last October began medical cooperation in this country with the arrival of a brigade of 10 nurses working at the Dasman Institute of Diabetes.
The meeting was also attended by Cuban ambassador to Kuwait Andrés González Garrido, Dr. Nafeh Abi-Rezk, Business Director of the Cuban Medical Services Enterprise (CSMC), who accompanies the vice minister during her visit to Kuwait , and the first secretary of the Cuban embassy Maribel Duarte González.
During the stay of little more than 24 hours in Kuwait, the Cuban delegation has maintained an intense work agenda, with numerous meetings with authorities in the health sector, as well as with directors of private sector medical institutions.
The Deputy Minister also met with the Director of the Dasman Diabetes Institute Dr. Qais Al-Duwairi and with the brigade of Cuban nurses who work in this institution.
