Minister of Health of Liberia receives the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires.

Cuba's Chargé d'affaires in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, paid a courtesy call to the Liberian Minister of Health, Dr. Bernice Dahn, who welcomed him at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health of that West African nation.The Cuban diplomat sent his counterpart a fraternal greeting on behalf of the government and Cuban health authorities, in particular the Minister of Health, Roberto Morales Ojeda. He also reiterated the will of the Cuban government to continue supporting the process of recovery of the Liberian health sector, in accordance with the economic possibilities of Cuba and made a brief explanation of the island's achievements in health and the international solidarity provided in that sector .

Likewise, Despaigne Vera thanked Liberia's support for Cuba's struggle to lift the unjust economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States against the Caribbean nation for more than 50 years, as well as the Minister's visit to the Cuban Embassy to express their condolences on the passing of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in November of last year. .

For her part, the Liberian Minister thanked Cuba once again for its support in the fight against Ebola in her country, as well as for the training of human resources, which she described as an important contribution to the recovery of the Liberian health system. At the same time, she acknowledged Cuba's achievements in health and expressed the African nation's interest in strengthening and advancing more in bilateral partnerships, particularly in this area.
