The Minister of Justice of Cuba, Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez, completed a working visit to Vietnam during which he met with State, Government, and judicial authorities of the Indochinese country.
In a meeting with the Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Premier expressed to the Cuban visitor the will to continue promoting the exchange of delegations and integral cooperation between the two countries, especially within the legal field.
Xuan Phuc expressed his confidence in the success of the transformations that Cuba undertakes, under the leadership of the Communist Party and with the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz´s legacy of thought and work.
Silvera Martínez, on the other hand, informed the head of the Vietnamese Government about the legal ordering process that takes place in the Caribbean country, on the basis of the new Constitution approved this year by the majority of the Cuban people.
He mentioned the measures approved by the US. that increase the commercial and financial economic blockade of Washington against Cuba and intend to deprive the island of potential foreign partners and investors.
In official conversations, the Minister and his pair in Vietnam, Le Thanh Long, reviewed the bilateral agenda and exchanged experiences on the legal improvement and operation of both ministries.
Later, the 2020-2021 Cooperation Plan was signed between the two ministries, signed by Cuban Vice Minister Lilian Hernández Doejo, and his Vietnamese counterpart, Phan Chi Hieu
The Minister also held meetings with the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party and vice president of the National Assembly, Tong Thị Phong, the president of the Supreme People's Court, Nguyen Hoa Binh, and the deputy prosecutor of the republic, Tran Cong Phan.
