As part of the working program executed in Austria by the delegation led by Dr. Oscar Manuel Silvera Martínez, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cuba, a fraternal meeting was held today with the Federal Minister of Constitution, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice of Austria, Dr. Josef Moser, at the premises of the Austrian Ministry. In the meeting both parties reaffirmed their willingness to continue strengthening the bilateral bonds established in the legal sector.
Minister Silvera Martinez thanked his host for the experiences received from Austria regarding the development of public registry computerization systems, in the framework of the implementation of the bilateral MoU signed in December 2015, through which delegations of experts and authorities have been exchanged during the years 2017 and 2018. Both parties ratified the will to continue developing concrete actions to support this crucial project.
The Cuban Minister offered his counterpart extensive information on the Constitutional Reform process recently carried out in Cuba, highlighting the broad and democratic popular consultation, the results of the referendum and the process of updating laws and regulations which must be executed after the adoption of the new Constitution.
On the other hand, the Austrian Minister expressed his appreciation for the interesting information received and valued the broad popular and participatory scope of the Constitutional Reform process. He ratified the willingness of the Austrian side to continue bilateral cooperation in this sector and thanked his counterpart for inviting him to visit Cuba.
Likewise, the Cuban delegation was composed of Dr. Lilia María Hernández Doejo and Dr. Antonio Israel Ybarra Suárez; First Deputy Minister and the Director of International Relations of the Ministry, respectively. They were accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador to Austria, His Excellency Mr. Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios and other officials of the Diplomatic Mission who also visited several public registries in Austria, where they received information on their practical functioning.
