Montreal, July 26, 2026. — Representatives of solidarity organizations with Cuba, Cuban residents, and members of the Consulate General of Cuba in Montreal commemorated this Sunday the 73rd anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
During the event, Consul General Yamari Pérez Viera highlighted the historical significance of the date and expressed her gratitude for the continued demonstrations of solidarity and support for the Cuban Revolution.
Those in attendance voiced their firm opposition to the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba and called for an end to the energy siege and the economic sanctions aimed at strangling the Caribbean island.
The Quebec–Cuba Solidarity Roundtable (Table de Concertation Solidarité Québec-Cuba) presented the signatures collected in support of the "I Sign for Cuba" ("Firmo por Cuba") campaign, reflecting the affection and solidarity with the largest of the Antilles that resonates from the heart of Montreal.
