The National Federation of Trade Unions of Workers and Employees of Lebanon confirm its solidarity and support to the Cuban people in the struggle against the blockade.

The head of mission, Jorge León Cruz, was received by the President of the National Federation of Trade Unions of Workers and Employees of Lebanon (FENASOL), Castro Abdallah, and held a meeting in which the Cuban diplomat gave an update on Cuba's progress with the implementation of the economic guidelines approved at the National Conference and the 8th Congress of the PCC.

The head of mission delivered a dossier with information and the call to participate in the celebrations in Cuba on May 1st, International Workers' Day and thanked FENASOL for its traditional support to the Cuban people in the confrontation of the tightening of the blockade imposed by the U.S. against Cuba for more than 6 decades.

The trade union leader highlighted the example that Cuba represents for the peoples of the world for its principled positions in defense of just causes and gave an overview of the recognized and meritorious trade union activity that FENASOL carries out to represent all workers, regardless of their legal status, nationality, ethnicity, race and occupation.

During the meeting, the positive links between the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) and FENASOL were reviewed and the prospects for future exchanges of trade union experiences and coordination of positions in international events were positively assessed.

FENASOL is one of the first and historic trade union federations in the country that was founded to defend equality, social justice and human and labor rights.  It is the only trade union federation that reformed its statutes to allow all workers to join and become members on equal terms, regardless of nationality, sex, race and economic sector, in line with international labor standards.
