The National Federation of Trade Unions of Workers and Employees of Lebanon ratifies its solidarity and support to the Cuban people in the struggle against the blockade.
Ambassador Jorge León Cruz received Castro Abdallah, President of the National Federation of Trade Unions of Workers and Employees of Lebanon (FENASOL), who gave a broad overview of the Lebanese trade union and workers' situation, particularly the challenges facing workers and the people in general in the south of the country.
The diplomat thanked FENASOL for its traditional support in the struggle of the Cuban people to confront the intensified blockade imposed by the U.S. against Cuba for more than 6 decades.
The trade union leader highlighted the example that Cuba represents for the peoples of the world for its principled positions in defense of just causes and confirmed the full willingness to continue deepening the positive ties between the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) and FENASOL.
Also participating in the meeting were Shehade Al Masri, President of the Bakery Workers Union and member of the Organization Office, and Ali Ayoub, member of the Administration and Finance Office.
FENASOL is one of the first and historic trade union federations in the country that was founded to defend equality, social justice and human and labor rights. It is the only trade union federation that reformed its statutes to allow all workers to join and become members on equal terms, regardless of nationality, gender, race and economic sector, in line with international labor standards.
