Solidarity Message on the Anniversary of Fidel Castro

To the comrades in the steadfast Republic of Cuba,
To the Cuban Workers’ Union,
To the friendly Cuban people,
On the anniversary of the passing of the international leader Fidel Castro, we at the National Federation of Workers and Employees Trade Unions in Lebanon (FENASOL) recall his inspiring legacy—one that embodied the values of freedom, dignity, social justice, and the unwavering defense of peoples’ right to self-determination. Fidel represented a living symbol of resilience in the face of blockade and injustice, a beacon of anti-imperialist resistance, and a global voice for workers, the poor, and the oppressed.
Fidel Castro’s legacy remains alive in the struggles of the Cuban people and in the international solidarity that unites free nations. Here in Lebanon, amid the difficult circumstances our workers and people face, we draw strength from Cuba’s spirit of steadfastness and see in its experience a shining example of national dignity and human commitment.
On this occasion, FENASOL affirms the depth of the trade union relations between our peoples and organizations, and our ongoing solidarity with Cuba in confronting all forms of blockade and aggression. We renew our support for the Cuban people’s struggle for social justice, development, and national sovereignty.
We conclude by extending our respect to the spirit of leader Fidel Castro and to the great Cuban people, reaffirming that his cause will remain a guiding light for all free people.
