Port of Spain, December 3, 2022. The Cuban Medical Brigade together with the group of the diplomatic mission in Trinidad and Tobago closed the 17th National Scientific Conference, an event that coincided with the Day of Latin American Medicine, a date of great historical, solidarity and humanist for our country.
The opening words were given by the Ambassador of Cuba, Tania Diego Olite, who recognized the work currently carried out by the Cuban collaborators in Trinidad and Tobago, highlighted the results achieved during the confrontation with the Covid19 pandemic by this army of white coats and He wished success to the participants in the day.
The defense of the papers presented was carried out before the "Presentations" and "Posters" commissions, in charge of analyzing and making final decisions on the topics discussed; some of which were related to the validity of the Cuban Medical collaboration; the characterization, development and impact of the Covid19 epidemic in the Trinidadian population; action protocols for different pathologies and specialties; work of Cuban nursing in the care of patients admitted to intensive care units and in support of the maternal and child program; among others. 25 works were presented, of which 10 were awarded.
The proposed objectives and results achieved in the development of the event confirmed the words of our historic leader Fidel when he expressed: "The future of our country must necessarily be a future of men of science, it must be a future of men of thought, because It is precisely what we are sowing the most".
