Ottawa - In a coordinated effort involving staff from the diplomatic Mission in Canada, Cuban residents in Ottawa/Gatineau, and solidarity groups in this capital, the "Hands for Cuba" donation was organized. It will be sent to the country's eastern provinces, which were affected after Hurricane Melissa passed through Cuban territory.
The 10-cubic-meter donation includes non-perishable food, disposable medical supplies (gloves, syringes, emergency kits), clothing, toiletries, and other essential items. This aid will be delivered to members of the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto, who will send it to Cuba soon.
This donation, a demonstration of the love for Cuba and its people in these northern lands, joins other efforts collected in various countries around the world and within Cuba to support the population affected by the hurricane.
