The pan-Arab channel Al Mayedeen broadcasted to the Arab and international audience the first part of a 3-hour conversation with President Díaz-Canel.

The pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen, based in Lebanon, broadcast the first part of the conversation with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who signified the truth of the Revolution and his support for just causes.

The first part of the three-hour conversation between the general director of the news network, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, and the Cuban head of state reached the Arab and international audience as a testimony of the historical continuity of the Cuban Revolution and its human, socialist and internationalist model.

The president reaffirmed the commitment to continue moving forward with the support of the majority of the people, despite the adversities and pressures of U.S. imperialism.

In this first part of 59 minutes, the also first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba gave an overview of the struggle of the Cuban people since the Spanish colonial domination until the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959.

Díaz-Canel also emphasized the continuity of the thinking of National Hero José Martí and the legacy of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and Army General Raúl Castro as guides for the development of the Revolution's important and systematic revolutionary changes for the benefit and well-being of the Cuban people.

The President highlighted the resistance of the Revolution in the face of the siege, aggression and blockade imposed on Cuba by the main imperialist power in the world, the United States, for more than 6 decades.

He also denounced the systematic and aggressive media campaigns, promoted from Washington, in an attempt to discredit the Cuban Revolution and try to destroy Cuba's example.

He highlighted the role of young people in the validity of the Revolution and emphasized the alternative and emancipating character of the Cuban process in the face of selfishness, war, aggression and coercive measures. He called for the globalization of friendship, peace and the strengthening of bridges of love, as well as the preservation of the environment to save the human race.

On the left in Latin America and the Caribbean, Díaz-Canel endorsed the call for unity, integration and respect for historical references to defeat the imperial media machinery.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to the historic generation of the Revolution and the continuity to defend sovereignty, independence and self-determination.

The President denounced the intensification of the blockade with the imposition of more than 243 measures by the Donald Trump administration, which are still in force and impede food and medical supplies, fuel shortages, spare parts, foreign currency and sources of external financing.

He also denounced the inclusion of Cuba in the spurious unilateral U.S. list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

On the occasion, he condemned the U.S. support to the media campaign against the island, mainly in social networks, to seek discontent and generate an atmosphere of protests within the national territory.

The president confirmed the support and backing of the Cuban youth to promote the project of the Revolution; he highlighted the achievements of Cuban science in confronting and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic and the firm response of the people in the face of imperialist maneuvers and aggressions.

 

On Monday March 21 and Tuesday March 22/2023, Al Mayadeen will screen the following parts of the dialogue at 21:00 local time and 15:00 Havana and Caracas time through its Arabic screen and Spanish Youtube channel.
