A petition against war

ttawa, May 7, 2026 – Canadian federal Member of Parliament Alexandre Boulerice today presented petition e-7082 in the House of Commons, signed by thousands of Canadian citizens. In his remarks, Boulerice emphasized that this initiative responds to U.S. aggressions and threats in the Caribbean region, urging the Government of Canada to condemn them as violations of International Law.

The signatories call on Ottawa to refuse participation in military or economic aggressions, reaffirm the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace free from external intervention, and actively oppose any aggression against Cuba, Colombia, or Mexico. In addition, they urge Canada to firmly reject the economic measures imposed by the United States against Cuba, demand their immediate lifting, deepen economic, trade, and aid ties with the Island, and unequivocally defend the right of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean to self-determination.

The petition, which has gathered more than 12,000 signatures, comes at a time of growing regional geopolitical tensions, with Boulerice emphasizing Canada’s role as a signatory to the UN Charter in promoting peace and sovereignty. The petition is available on the bilingual portals of the House of Commons.
