Manila, October 22, 2025. Philippine-Cuban Friendship Society (PCFS), Philippines-Cuba Friendship Association (AMISTAD, and Philippines-Cuba Cultural and Friendship Association (PHILCUBA), have joined the international campaign for the immediate lifting of the illegal Blockade of the United States of America against Cuba.
These Associations of Friendship have denounced that no other nation as Cuba has been under such a prolonged system of sanctions, encompassing unilateral coercive measures with extraterritorial effects, such as those imposed for more than 60 years by the United States of America. This illegal policy violates international law and constitutes an act of aggression and genocide against the Cuban people, it is a blockade that flagrantly and systematically violates the full enjoyment of all the human rights of the Cuban people.
They also reiterated that there is no doubt that the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed on Cuba by the United States of America have been the main obstacle to its economic and social development.
On the spurious unilateral qualification of USA of Cuba as State alleged sponsor of terrorism, they have emphasized that this is one of the most hostile coercive measure with negative impacts in all sectors, that it is based in a lie because Cuba has been victim of terrorism and have maintain international cooperation against this scourge.
They denounced the obstacles of the Blockade for the normal development of Cuban medical cooperation around the world that affect the right to health of many vulnerable populations.
These Associations of Friendship have expressed its concern about the negative humanitarian impact on the living conditions of Cuban people due to the implementation of the illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade by the United States of America.
Those Associations reiterated its solidarity with Cuba and reaffirm its support for just demand of the elimination of the illegal Blockade against Cuba.
