The Hague, February 12, 2026. In the year of the centenary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, and with its immense commitment to the Cuban people, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Netherlands organized a political-cultural gala to mark the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
The event, held at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in the Netherlands, was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Dutch Foreign Ministry, businesspeople with ties to Cuba, close friends of solidarity, and compatriots residing in that country.
Ambassador Eva Yelina Silva Walker addressed those present, highlighting the significance of the revolutionary triumph, the enormous challenges faced in the face of the US government's ongoing aggression, and the Cuban people's unwavering determination to defend their sovereignty and independence to the last drop of blood.
She referred to the criminal and illegal blockade and its social, economic, emotional, and psychological impact on the Cuban population.
During the speech, the relations between Cuba and the Netherlands were also highlighted, which have historical roots and have been maintained for more than 120 years. These have been marked by respect, dialogue, diplomacy, cooperation, and trade for mutual benefit.
The evening was enlivened by the extraordinary talent of Cuban artists living in the Netherlands: Ramón Valle, Pablo Cruz, and Alina Sánchez, who delighted those present with the best of Cuban music and jazz.
In the face of so much hostility towards Cuba, the embassy conveyed a message of love and hope.
During her keynote address at the meeting, the ambassador emphasized that "The recent adoption of the executive order establishing the conditions for an oil embargo against Cuba is an UNACCEPTABLE act of aggression. It violates long-standing principles of peace and coexistence among nations and undermines international law. In this context, fear or conscious ignorance does not buy security, but paves the way for the same recipe to be repeated to others.
Cuba remains committed to the country's economic sustainability, prioritizing the strengthening of unity through consensus building based on responsible debate and the participation of all, as well as a commitment to social justice and the full dignity of human beings, as enshrined in its Constitution, adopted in 2019."
