The Political Bureau of the Lebanese Communist Party congratulates the Government and the Communist Party of Cuba for the exclusion of the island from the list of countries alleged to be sponsors of terrorism

The Political Bureau of the Lebanese Communist Party congratulates the leadership of the Cuban government and the Communist Party of Cuba for the decision signed by U.S. President Biden to remove Cuba from the list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism, after a political campaign and international popular solidarity of which our party was part.

Despite the importance of this decision, which overturns the decision of the previous Trump administration, the most important issue remains the economic sanctions imposed on the island since 1960, which led to the deprivation of the Cuban people of economic resources, shortages of food and medicine, and the impoverishment of large segments of the people.

The Lebanese Communist Party demands the complete lifting of all U.S. criminal sanctions against the Cuban people, which are rejected and condemned by all international bodies, in particular the United Nations General Assembly, which has voted to condemn these sanctions repeatedly without any U.S. response.
