Prensa Latina and Al Mayadeen sign Cooperation Agreement in Lebanon and consolidate a brotherhood at the service of truth
Founded on strategic policies, the Latin American Information Agency Prensa Latina and the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen strengthened their brotherhood today in Beirut in defense of the truth and at the service of the people.
The mission of betting on honest journalism for the benefit of humanity was endorsed between the two media, by renewing the cooperation contract for a period of five years.
At the headquarters of the Al Mayadeen network, in the Lebanese capital, the parties ratified the interest in expanding the work circles from the information, intellectual, political and organizational fields.
During the ceremony, the president of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, described the expansion of ties as a meeting of struggle and a strategic relationship in favor of the global south.
"We are not political parties, we are media that carry a message, an identity, an approach and an alternative," he stated.
For his part, the president of Prensa Latina, Luis Enrique González, reaffirmed the commitment of the Latin American agency's collective to consolidate the alliance with Al Mayadeen, despite the obstacles and difficulties imposed by the US blockade.
On the occasion, the manager advocated for greater professional, scientific and technical exchange with the aim of enhancing media content on different communication platforms.
He expressed the intention to increase collaboration in Latin America and Africa and thanked Al Mayadeen for its support in the fight against injustice, media monopoly and unipolarity.
The renewal of the agreement was attended by the head of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Lebanon, Jorge León Cruz, who highlighted the strengthening of friendship and its importance in the face of falsification and distortion of facts by the great corporate powers.
Prensa Latina and Al Mayadeen began working together in 2014 and since then they have defended a free project in front of public opinion with flexibility, realism and respect for political events.
At the same time, they constitute the voice of the world progressive community, in the East, the West and the South with their different intellectual and cultural impulses.
Prensa Latina was born in Havana just a few months after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959, thanks to the will of the historical leader Fidel Castro, Ernesto Che Guevara and Jorge Ricardo Masetti.
On June 11, 2012, the multiplatform Al Mayadeen aired and in these years of comprehensive resistance it promotes the convergence of cultures and dialogue between different civilizations, based on respect and equality.
