President Díaz-Canel congratulates Canada's new leader, Mark Carney, on his victory in the federal elections

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated today the Liberal Party of Canada and its leader and Prime Minister, Mark Carney, on the victory obtained in the federal elections.

 

Through the social network X, the Cuban head of state said:

We congratulate the Liberal Party of Canada and its leader Mark Carney for the victory obtained in the federal elections.

We reiterate the will to deepen the ties between our two nations, which are celebrating 80 years of uninterrupted diplomatic relations.

 

Both governments have reiterated on several occasions the mutual willingness to continue developing bilateral relations in all spheres, highlighting the potential in the economic and trade sector and in investment. Similarly, Canada has maintained its position in the United Nations General Assembly, with its vote in favor of the resolution demanding the lifting of the U.S. blockade against the island.
