Beirut, May 24.- The President of the Lebanese Republic, Michel Aoun, conveyed a message of congratulations to the newly elected President of the Council of State and Ministers of Cuba Migue Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. In it President Aoun expressed his congratulations for the confidence gained by Díaz-Canel to lead Cuba and wished him success in his new responsibilities to achieve the aspirations of the Cuban people.
In the same way, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and National Assembly Speaker Nabih Berry sent congratulatory letters to the new Cuban head of state in which they also reaffirmed their willingness to continue developing bilateral ties.
The leaders of the Lebanese Communist Party, the Party of God, the Arab-Latin American Solidarity Association "José Martí", the Lebanon-Cuba Friendship Association, the Palestine-Cuba Friendship Association and many Lebanese, Palestinians and Cubans residing in Lebanon have also sent their congratulatory messages to the Embassy of Cuba in Beirut.
