President of Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association sends congratulations on the occasion of the anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Monrovia, April 19, 2020.- One day like today in 1974, Cuba and Liberia decided to establish diplomatic relations.

Under the concept of respect and mutual aid both countries strengthen their relations for the good of the people of Liberia and the Cuban people.

Many of the members of this association are the fruit of the bilateral relations between both nations; Liberia, the country where we were born, and Cuba, the country where we were trained and taught to be good men and women. Where we were instilled with a sense of solidarity, that solidarity that in our days of pandemic Cuba is spreading to the needy countries of the world.

In the celebration of this anniversary, we join once again the call of the international community for the end of the US blockade against Cuba, a country that is excluded from humanitarian aid and that is hindered from receiving aid from other countries. Enough, it is necessary to lift these sanctions in view of the spread of COVID-19.

To the members of the Cuban Embassy in Liberia congratulations on this new anniversary.

We will have time to celebrate many more anniversaries.

Long live Cuba and Liberia!

God bless us all and save our Nations

Monrovia, April 19, 2020
