The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received Mr. Lukas Sinimbo Muha, Chairperson of the National Council of Namibia, at the Palace of the Revolution.
During the exchange, the Cuban president highlighted the close and historic bilateral relations, forged since the fight against apartheid and for the independence of Namibia. He especially underlined the great affection that both peoples have and assured that Namibia can continue to count on Cuba always.
Sinimbo Muha visits Cuba for the first time to participate in the International Seminar on Parliamentary Diplomacy, in whose Final Declaration the value of the exercise of this instrument in the service of peace, the well-being of our peoples, human rights and development was ratified.
During his speech at the International Seminar, the Namibian parliamentarian strongly condemned the act of genocide and violation of the rights of Cubans represented by the blockade imposed by the United States government against our country.
As part of the program that Sinimbo Muha is carrying out in the Greater Antilles, he visited the Fidel Castro Center and was received at the Central Committee by Emilio Lozada, head of the Department of International Relations, a meeting in which topics of common interest were discussed and the excellent state of relations between both Parties was highlighted.
Muha and the delegation accompanying him also had a fraternal exchange with Fernando González Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, with whom they discussed the historic and close ties of brotherhood that have resulted in the realization of important collaboration projects.
As a culmination of the visit, Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, received Lukas Sinimbo at the National Capitol, the space where the official conversations took place.
