Dr. Rubén Remigio Ferro, President of the People´s Supreme Court of Cuba, successfully concludes his visit to Austria in which he carried out an extensive program of activities in the margins of the launch of the Global Judicial Integrity Network at the UN Headquarters and executed bilateral meetings with judicial authorities of the alpine country.
The distinguished representative of Cuba was received by the H.E. Mr. Eckart Ratz, President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Austria and H.E. Mrs. Brigitte Bierlein, President of the Constitutional Court of Austria to whom Dr. Remigio Ferro extended an official invitation to participate in the 9th Justice and Law International Meeting to be held from 23 – 25 May 2018 in Havana.
This visit contributed to strengthen the good relations existing between both countries which have maintained steady diplomatic ties for more than seven decades. Moreover, it constituted an excellent opportunity to exchange information about the structures and the functioning of the judicial systems in both countries and suggest further cooperation and exchange actions.
Besides, the Cuban delegation was also composed of Dr. Pedro Medina Gutiérrez, Director of Communications and International Relations of the People´s Supreme Court and representatives of the Embassy of Cuba in Austria.
