Accomplishing the ambitious visit program to Austria, H.E. Mr. Rubén Remigio Ferro, President of the People´s Supreme Court of Cuba had a courtesy call with H.E. Mr. Eckart Ratz, President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Austria.
The cordial meeting between the highest authorities of the judicial bodies of both nations took place in the Supreme Court of Austria based in the iconic Palace of Justice of Vienna.
The highest Cuban representative provided his counterpart with information regarding the Cuban judicial system and he extended an official invitation to participate in the 9th Justice and Law International Meeting to be held from 23 – 25 May 2018 in Havana.
Dr. Ratz shared information on the characteristics of the structures and functions of the various Austrian Judicial Courts with his counterpart. After the explanation both parties concurred regarding the availability to establish a bilateral instrument in the judicial sector to cooperate and exchange experiences and experts.
Moreover, the highest judicial authorities of Cuba and Austria highlighted the positive state of the bilateral ties existing between both countries, particularly in the legal sector.
The Cuban delegation was also composed of Dr. Pedro Medina Gutiérrez, Director of Communications and International Relations of the People´s Supreme Court and Marieta García Jordán, Chargé d´Affaires a.i of the Embassy of Cuba in Austria.
