The President of the Supreme People's Court of Cuba, Dr. Rubén Remigio Ferro, heads the Cuban delegation that participates in the Meeting to launch the Global Judicial Integrity Network, at United Nations Headquarters in Vienna, on the 9th and 10th of April.
The meeting organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) brings together the highest representatives of the judicial organs of the world, with the aim of establishing an international platform dedicated to defending judicial integrity and preventing corruption in the justice systems.
In the opening remarks of the event, the Director of the International Relations Division of UNODC, Mr. John Brandolino, highlighted the importance of this Network as "a broad platform to share experiences and unite efforts among judges around the world".
As part of the objectives of the event, the adoption of a declaration containing the international commitments is foreseen to continue discussing the common challenges, best practices and innovative ideas to produce initiatives; and promote integrity, accountability and transparency in justice systems.
The Cuban delegation is also composed of the Chargé d'Affaires ai, Marieta García Jordán, the Director of Communication and International Relations of the Dr. Pedro Medina Gutiérrez Tribunal, and the Third Secretaries of the Embassy of Cuba in Austria, Susette Hernández Gonzálezl and Beatriz Lauzarique Montiel
