Vietnam Fatherland Front reiterates its rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for almost 60 years: President of that organization, Tran Thanh Man, said in Hanoi.
The statement was issued in a meeting with the Cuban ambassador, Lianys Torres Rivera, to review the cooperation between that organization and its counterpart on the island, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR).
Also, the leader praised the cooperation between the CDR and the Front as a contribution to the historic ties of friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, which will celebrate six decades of diplomatic relations on December 2.
When reporting on the activities to celebrate CDR 60th anniversary in her country (9-28-20), Ambassador gave Thanh Man an invitation from the CDR national coordinator, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, to join an online seminar to commemorate that date.
The diplomat congratulated her counterpart for the results of the National Emulation Congress, in which Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highlighted the Front for its achievements in promoting social programs related to the new rurality and the fight against poverty,
Both parties recognized Vietnam and Cuba success in the control and prevention of COVID-19 pandemic and agreed to resume visits in both directions once the epidemiological situation normalizes.
