Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the Honourable Philip Davis, Calls for an End to the Blockade Against Cuba
New York, September 25, 2026 — Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the Honourable Philip Davis, called for an end to the blockade against Cuba during his address to the General Debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Prime Minister Davis stated: “In our own Hemisphere, The Bahamas again calls for an end to the strengthened blockade against Cuba, an end to the fuel blockade, and for Cuba to be removed from the unilateral list of alleged State Sponsors of Terrorism. The Cuban people are suffering, and that is why we make this appeal. We urge all States to respect Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.”
