Beirut, October, 10th. 2017 // The Lebanese Democratic Youth Union (LDYU), the Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) and the Lebanese-Cuba Friendship Association (LCFA) organized, at the UJDL headquarters in the Lebanese capital , an act commemorating the 50th anniversary of the physical disappearance of Ernesto Guevara.
The event was attended by the presidents and members of the above mentioned institutions, the president of the Palestinian Democratic Youth Union (PDYU), the Chargé d'affaires and diplomatic officials of the Cuban diplomatic mission, as well as diplomatic officials of the Venezuelan diplomatic mission in Beirut.
In the framework of the activity, speeches were made in tribute to the date by the presidents of the PDYU, of the LCP, LDYU, which made reviews on the life and revolutionary thinking of the heroic guerrilla.
For his part, Chargé d' Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy, Raúl. E. Madrigal Cárdenas thanked the initiative and reaffirmed the importance of deepening the study of Che's thought as an indispensable way to keep alive his example of an internationalist revolutionary.
As a final moment, a statement was issued by the President of the LCFA on behalf of the organizations present, expressing the rejection of the most recent maneuvers of the US government against the revolutionary processes of Cuba and Venezuela; as well as denouncing the critical humanitarian situation in Yemen as a result of the military aggression launched against that arab country.
