Beirut, April 19, 2021. Media of the most diverse tendencies in Lebanon highlighted today the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, in whose last session President Miguel Díaz-Canel was elected as first secretary of the political organization.
The pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen reflected all the sessions of the meeting and even before, interviewing the former head of the Department of Cadres of the Cuban political organization, Abelardo Alvarez Gil.
Meanwhile, the digital version of The Daily Star reviewed part of the life of Raúl Castro, brother of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and referred to the merits of the former to reach the position he handed over to the new generations on Monday.
The French language newspaper L'Orient le Jour also referred to the coincidence of the congress with the 60th anniversary of the Bay of Pigs victory over a mercenary brigade trained, armed and organized by the United States.
