Castries, January 21st , 2019.The Cuban Ambassador in Saint Lucia, Alejandro Simancas was received by the Minister of Health and Wellness, Senator the Honorable Mary Isaac. During the meeting, which took place at the Minister's Office, they interchanged on the positive development of the bilateral cooperation in the field of Medicine and the possibilities for it to be extended and increased. The Minister praised the work of the Cuban Doctors in this country, who contribute to the Health System on the island and she highlighted their dedication and work spirit, because of which they have the respect and admiration of the Saint Lucian people. She recognized the help and assistance that Cuba has traditionally offered the Caribbean in this field and their contribution and support in the training of new Health professionals and Specialists. The Cuban Ambassador ratified the decision to continue extending and increasing the relations of medical cooperation and highlighted the work of the Medical Brigade and the training every year, in Cuba, of new Saint Lucian Health professionals. In the meeting, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Felix St. Hill and the Coordinator of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Saint Lucia, Dr. José Luis López González also participated.
