A soccer cup dedicated to Fidel's centenary is inaugurated in India.

With the presence of comrade M. A. Baby, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPI-M) and the Cuban Ambassador, Juan Carlos Marsán, the “Fidel Castro Centennial” Soccer Cup, organized by the National Committee of Solidarity with Cuba in India, was inaugurated.

The Cup pays tribute to the legacy of the undefeated Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, with the aim of honoring and remembering his humanist thinking, particularly the development of sport, with access for all citizens, as a right of the people.

Over the course of 10 days, 32 teams representing different municipalities in the city of New Delhi will compete against each other. As a result, friendship and solidarity between our two peoples will triumph.
