Vienna, March 13. As part of the celebration marking the 45th anniversary of “International” magazine, the former Vice Governor of Vienna, Ms. Renate Brauner, called for international solidarity with Cuba.
Speaking at a roundtable discussion during the event, Ms. Brauner denounced the current situation on the island in light of the intensification of the blockade and called on those present to participate in the solidarity demonstration organized by the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG), which will take place on March 21 in this city.
The event, organized by the International Journalism Working Group, brought together figures from the Austrian and international political, academic, and diplomatic spheres, including former Austrian Federal President Heinz Fischer, Member of Parliament Muna Duzdar, and former Federal Council member Stefan Schennach, among others. Representing the Cuban side was the First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Austria, Lisset González López, who spoke with the participants and expressed gratitude for their support of the country.
Since its founding in 1979, the magazine “International” has been known for offering analysis and debates on international issues, particularly on North-South dialogue, peacebuilding, and multipolarity.
