Kuala Lumpur, March 2, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia expressed her gratitude for the participation in the online seminar “Unilateral Sanctions as an Instrument of War,” which brought together progressive activists from the Asia-Pacific region and became a Solidarity event with Cuba.
The representative of the Caribbean island delivered a presentation on Cuba’s 67-year experience of resistance under imperialist aggression and the most comprehensive and prolonged system of unilateral sanctions ever applied against an entire nation.
She addressed the aspects that demonstrate the illegality of the U.S. coercive measures against Cuba, which, due to their scope, constitute an act of genocide against the Cuban people, and illustrated with figures the human cost of the criminal blockade policy.
The messages of support for the Cuban people among the participants were deeply moving. They highlighted Cuba's achievements and international cooperation, and the example it sets for the world in the face of imperialist hegemony.
The Cuban Ambassador expressed her gratitude for the solidarity with our people and called for international mobilization in defense of peace, international law, and the self-determination of peoples.
