Solidarity with Cuba from Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, March 1, 2026. Ambassador Yadira Ledesma expressed her gratitude for the visit to the Cuban Embassy by the President of the Socialist Party of Malaysia (PSM), members of its Central Committee and International Relations Bureau, and the President of its Youth Section, as a demonstration of solidarity with Cuba.

The occasion provided an opportunity to update on the situation in Cuba following the escalation of imperialist aggression through the intensification of unilateral coercive measures, particularly the new executive order from the U.S. government that seeks—in violation of international law—to prevent the supply of oil to the island and reinforces more than 60 years of illegal economic, financial, and commercial blockade, which constitutes a crime of genocide against the Cuban people.

During the exchange, the just struggle of the Cuban Revolution and its people for independence and sovereignty against hegemonic domination was recognized. This struggle has inspired progressive forces worldwide, who today, more than ever, must raise their voices against injustice and in favor of peaceful coexistence.

The relevance of the thought of the great leader and statesman of the global left, our beloved Fidel Castro Ruz, was also recalled.

The Cuban Ambassador expressed her gratitude for the expressions of solidarity with the Cuban people from Malaysia.
