Solidarity with Cuba in Nepal.

Cuban Ambassador Alejandro Simancas to Nepal, resident in India, made a recent visit to Kathmandu, during which he had the opportunity to meet with different Nepalese social forces and organizations and to note the feeling of friendship and solidarity towards Cuba. 

The Ambassador was received by former Prime Minister and leader of the Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist, unified) Prasad Sharma Oli, who reiterated his admiration and solidarity support for our country and its position against the blockade. He also met with the leader of the Workers and Peasants Party, Narayan Man Bijushke and with a group of leaders of the Communist Party of Nepal, with whom he exchanged on the ties of friendship, cooperation and solidarity that have historically united both countries.  

He also met with Rabrindra Adhikari, Chairman of the Council for Peace and Solidarity, and with Surendra Raj Gosai, Chairman of the Cuba Solidarity Committee, as well as with the leaders of the National Youth Federation of Nepal and the National Union of Free Students of Nepal. 

The Cuban diplomat visited the municipality of Baktapur, which holds the symbolism that in 2015 the Henry Reeve Cuban Medical Brigade, which assisted Nepal after the terrible earthquake that struck the country, worked there. A solidarity conference between the two countries was held at the Baktapur Technical University on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations, which took place on March 25, 1975.
