Solidarity groups and Cuban residents welcome the new Cuban Ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis

Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis. On Saturday, the Cuban Embassy in Saint Kitts and Nevis welcomed representatives from the Cuban Alumni Association, the Solidarity Association, and Cuban residents in the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Ambassador Giuvel Orozco Ortega thanked Her Excellency Ms. Verna Mills, Ambassador of Saint Kitts and Nevis in Havana, whose work has been important in continuing to strengthen bilateral relations.

The Cuban diplomat expressed his satisfaction at meeting with friends and compatriots, whom he will surely count on in the performance of his new duties to continue strengthening long-standing relations and developing new projects for the benefit of both countries. He especially thanked the Association of Graduates in Cuba, promoter of the meeting, for its tireless work and ongoing support for the activities and projects promoted by the diplomatic mission.

For his part, Hollis Prentice, president of the Cuban Alumni Association, emphasized his gratitude to the people and government of Cuba and reaffirmed the bonds of brotherhood that unite both nations.

The scholarship program in Cuba has enabled around 150 young people from Saint Kitts and Nevis to study medicine, sports, engineering, economics, philology, etc., and to contribute to the development of their country.
