Solidarity meeting between the Cuban Ambassador and representatives of the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) in Vienna

Vienna, June 17 - In an atmosphere of camaraderie and strengthening of international solidarity ties, the Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, held a fruitful meeting with the spokespersons of the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) in Vienna, Barbara Urbanic and Mario Memoli.

During the meeting, the importance of cooperation and mutual support among progressive forces was highlighted, as well as the need to continue promoting the principles of internationalism and social justice. The Cuban Ambassador updated the KPÖ representatives on the current situation of Cuba, emphasizing the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States and the inclusion in the illegal and unilateral List of State Sponsors of Terrorism, as well as the challenges faced by the country on its path towards socialist development.

The Ambassador also took the opportunity to invite the Austrian comrades to the Granma Rebelde International Festival, to be held in Havana from October 17-20, 2025. This event will serve as a vibrant platform for political, academic, cultural and popular exchange, fostering dialogue, solidarity and cooperation based on critical thinking.

This meeting reaffirms the historic ties of friendship between Cuba and the Austrian progressive forces, ratifying that solidarity and international cooperation continue to be essential pillars in the struggle for a more just world.
