A special edition of wine is unveiled in Vienna to mark “100 Years with Fidel”

Vienna, August 16, 2026 – As part of the tributes in Austria marking the 100th anniversary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, a special bottling of wine was unveiled as part of the “100 Years with Fidel” initiative, spearheaded by winemakers who are members of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG) in the Burgenland region.

During the evening, the Austrian winemakers participating in the initiative displayed a large bottle symbolizing the significance of the Cuban leader’s legacy. The launch of this special commemorative bottle is part of the activities that the ÖKG and the Embassy have been carrying out throughout 2026 to celebrate the Commander’s centennial in this European country.
