A few hours ago, the Secretary of State said that there is no oil embargo on Cuba. He has simply chosen to lie. He contradicts the president and the White House spokesperson.

The reality is inescapable: on January 29, 2026, its president signed an executive order that threatens all countries with tariffs if they export fuel to Cuba. In four months, only one fuel ship has arrived in Cuba. All our suppliers are intimidated and threatened in violation of free trade and freedom of navigation rules. The new Executive Order of 1 May establishes secondary sanctions in the energy area.

The Secretary is well aware of the damage and suffering caused to the Cuban people today by the criminal oil blockade that he himself proposed to his President.
