Solidarity with Raúl Castro – ¡No pasarán!
Statement by the Executive Committee of the Party of Labour of Austria (PdA) on the arrest warrant issued by the corrupt US justice system against the former Cuban president. Vienna, May 22, 2026.
At the behest of US President Donald Trump, the United States Justice Department issued a fictitious arrest warrant against the former President of the Republic and still significant leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro.
The USA has been hindering Cuba's development in every conceivable way since the 1959 revolution; they have always used state-terrorist methods, and in recent months they have been trying to completely strangle Cuba economically and socially through the oil blockade.
Washington apparently believes it can replicate the Venezuelan scenario in Cuba. Since the criminal kidnapping of the Venezuelan president, a US-backed regime has ruled in Caracas, and Trump can do whatever he wants with it.
The Party of Labour (PdA) is convinced that no second Delcy Rodriguez will be found in Cuba, one willing to betray her own country. Fueled by the descendants of the former exploiters and colonial rulers in Miami, the US government has been intensifying its rhetoric and coercive measures against Cuba for some time now.
If anyone belongs in prison, it's not the revolutionary Raúl Castro, respected throughout the progressive world, but Donald Trump and his corrupt and war-obsessed gang. While Castro, like his brother Fidel and many others in Cuba, dedicated his entire life to the well-being of his people, Trump serves only his own enrichment, his billionaire friends, and the US military-industrial complex.
The Labour Party wishes Raúl Castro, who celebrates his 95th birthday on June 3rd, good health, all the best, continued energy and the iron will for revolutionary struggle that has distinguished him throughout his life.
¡No pasarán!
You shall not pass!
