Street Festival for Cuba in Vienna: A Traditional Celebration of Solidarity and Cuban Culture

Vienna, May 18. – The Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG) announced that it will hold its traditional Street Festival for Cuba (Straßenfest für Kuba) on May 30, an annual event that transforms the heart of Vienna into a gathering place for solidarity, music, and Cuban flavor.
The event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in front of the ÖKG’s headquarters, known as the Havana Club, located at Seisgasse 1, 1040. The event promises a welcoming afternoon with a diverse range of culinary and cultural offerings and will feature live Cuban music and informational booths about the reality of life on the island and the effects of the U.S. blockade.

The Street Festival for Cuba is not only a celebration but also a platform to raise awareness among the Austrian public about the need to end the economic, commercial, and financial blockade that the United States has imposed on Cuba for more than six decades.

With this initiative, the ÖKG—the leading force in solidarity with Cuba in Austria—reinforces its active commitment to the Cuban people. Throughout 2026, the association has stepped up its advocacy efforts, donations, and coordination with other political forces and social movements.

The event on May 30 is also an opportunity for friends of Cuba to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, learn more about the work of the ÖKG, and join the solidarity network that is growing every year in Austria.
