Street Party for Cuba 2023, celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Moncada
Vienna, June 3, 2023. This Saturday, June 3, members of the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association (ÖKG) held the traditional street festival for Cuba in front of their headquarters located in the central "Wieden" district. On this occasion, the activity was held in salute to the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks in Santiago de Cuba.
With messages against the blockade and the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, this activity was held for more than 7 hours.
The members of the Cuban Embassy, headed by the ambassador, thanked the ÖKG and encouraged them to continue their work in solidarity with the people of the Greater Antilles.
The activity, held in the middle of the street, took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere, with music and dances, typical Cuban and Austrian dishes and drinks. More than a hundred neighbors, young people, friends in solidarity and Cuban residents learned about Cuba and its struggles, as well as enjoyed a pleasant Cuban afternoon in the heart of Vienna.
