Strengthening of ties between the Communist Parties of Cuba and Lebanon
Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz received, at the headquarters of the Cuban mission in Beirut, Hanna Ghareb, Secretary General of the Lebanese Communist Party, accompanied by Maurice Nohra, member of the Lebanese party leadership and president of the Lebanon-Cuba Friendship Association,
During the fraternal meeting, the results of the visit to Cuba made by the General Secretary of the PCL in May of this year were reviewed and the agreements reached to continue deepening the inter-party ties were followed up.
Likewise, topics of interest related to the celebration of events to be organized by the PCL on the occasion of the centenary of its foundation and the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (EIPCO) to be held in late October in Beirut were also discussed.
The occasion was propitious to note the international solidarity and support in denouncing and demanding the lifting of the blockade imposed by the U.S. against the Caribbean island and the exclusion of Cuba from the spurious unilateral and illegitimate list of the State Department on countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism.
