Beirut, November 1, 2021. The regional meeting of Cuban residents in the Bekaa and northern Lebanon was held on Sunday in the historic Bekaa Valley.
At the meeting, the head of consular affairs of the Embassy, Odalys Capote, made a presentation on consular issues of major interest and impact for the Cuban community and presented a summary of the activities carried out with Cubans in the last 2 years. The exchange was conducive to clarify doubts and concerns of Cuban residents.
For his part, Ambassador Alexander Pellicer, highlighted the importance of this type of meeting, which unfortunately had been suspended in the last two years due to the pandemic. The Cuban diplomat reaffirmed the unequivocal will of the Cuban government to continue deepening ties with its nationals abroad and to make them part of the new economic dynamics on the island so that they can also actively contribute to the development of the country for the benefit of all Cubans.
The meeting demonstrated the deep love and respect of Cubans for their homeland and the rejection of the blockade policy and economic asphyxiation imposed by Washington on the island for more than 60 years. (Embacuba Líbano)
