Statement from the Cuban chapter of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists, and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity, REDH-Cuba.
The aggression that some denied has entered a new chapter. The United States has launched a military attack on the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Taking advantage, with their characteristic cowardice, of the early hours of the morning in Caracas and the first days of the year, they carried out their actions against the people and claimed innocent victims on January 3, 2026.
Our demand is clear and direct:
We demand proof of life for the constitutional president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and his immediate release. We know that for US imperialism, assassination is part of its agenda.
We call for popular mobilization as the only way to stop imperialist aggression. The US government only fears the strength of the people and ignores international law.
We demand that all international organizations condemn this military aggression.
