Nassau, November 25, 2023. The State Mission of Cuba in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas paid heartfelt tribute to the historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution on the 7th anniversary of his physical disappearance.
In the political-cultural gala, which highlighted Fidel's legacy, protagonists of his work participated: Cuban residents who love their Homeland and work Together for Cuba – some participants of the recently concluded IV Meeting “The Nation and Emigration”; solidarity friends including professionals from Bahamas and other countries who graduated in Cuban schools; Cuban teachers whom celebrate 20 years of uninterrupted educational cooperation in The Bahamas; Cuban health professionals, who have guaranteed medical services and saved lives throughout 60 years of collaboration, including the extraordinary work during the recent Covid-19 pandemic; members of the Diplomatic Mission and other offices of the State Cuban Mission.
There were exciting testimonies, among others from an African graduate in veterinary medicine who came to Cuba at the age of 14 and reaffirmed that there he learned the solidarity and internationalism that he professes, he confirmed that he felt like a Cuban born in other lands as Fidel once told them, and in addition, he expressed eternal gratitude for the Cuban work that has touched and saved so many African countries and the world.
For her part, a Cuban attending the meeting of residents abroad held last week on the Island, revealed her satisfaction for participating in such an event and highlighted the impetus for these dialogues given by the Commander that inspire many Cubans to work for the Homeland wherever they are.
The words of the Head of the Cuban Medical Collaboration in the country about the enduring work and example of the Commander in Chief were also emotional.
At the gala the songs Comandante and Cabalgando con Fidel were performed; the poems “Fidel Por Siempre” and “Canto a Fidel” were recited and images related to the life and actions of the eternal Commander were projected.
When thanking those present for their attendance to such a special occasion, the words of Raúl Castro in the Plaza de la Revolución on November 29, 2016 were recalled, in which he concluded: … “we say to you, together with our selfless, combative and heroic people : HASTA LA VICTORIA SIEMPRE." And then, the words: Where is Fidel? Resounded, and the response, Here; I am Fidel, from those present.
