To commemorate the second anniversary of the eternal presence of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the Cuban Embassy in Austria, "ÖKG", the Austrian-Cuba Friendship Association and "CubaVa", the Association of Cuban Residents brought together in Vienna friends of Cuba, members of the accredited Diplomatic Corps, Austrian authorities and Cuban residents, in a heartfelt event of homage and remembrance to his fruitful life and work.

The Vice-president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP, by its Spanish initials), Noemí Rabaza attended the event held at the Museum of Finest Cuban Art in Vienna. Noemí Rabaza is visiting Austria at the head of a delegation from ICAP. Members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Austria, representatives of left-wing parties and friends of Cuba were also present.

By means of songs, poems, audiovisual materials and heartfelt words, which were part of the political-cultural program, the large audience recalled the historical legacy of the Cuban and universal leader and his exceptional human values and ethical principles.

The Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios, in his speech highlighted Fidel's revolutionary and humanist trajectory of universal dimensions.    He added that, being consistent with his legacy, as revolutionaries we continue his work and defend day by day the Revolution remaining committed to its development.

The program also included statements delivered by Jessica Müller, President of the "ÖKG"; Alfred Kohlbacher, President of "ALBA-Austria" Association; poems recited by Diana Leyva, from "CubaVa"; and the committed music of Cuban artists Ismar Rivero and Víctor Fuentes.

The event was an emotional tribute to the Commander in Chief and a commitment to remain faithful to his legacy.
