Tribute to Fidel in India.

The Cuban Embassy in India paid a heartfelt tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, on the 96th anniversary of his birth. The event was attended by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), D. Raja, and the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and General Secretary of the Indian Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO), Arun Kumar.

During the evening, the validity of Fidel Castro's humanist, anti-imperialist, Latin Americanist and solidarity thinking, which continues to inspire new generations around the world, was highlighted. Likewise, his work in the construction of bonds of friendship, solidarity and cooperation, which have characterized the relations between the peoples of Cuba and India, was recalled.

Part of his life and work was also evoked with the reproduction of the documentary "Fidel es Fidel", by Cuban filmmaker Roberto Chile, which is inspired by the personality of the historic leader and includes moments of his revolutionary work.

Also present were diplomats from the Venezuelan Embassy in India, the General Secretaries of AIPSO, Sonya Gupta and Vineet Tiwari; members of the All India Democratic Women's Organization (AIDWA) and the Students Federation of India (SFI), as well as other friends of Cuba.
