Trinidad and Tobago joins the peoples represented in the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba.

Port of Spain, May 1, 2021. The political leader of the Social Justice Movement of Trinidad and Tobago and member of the Assembly of the Peoples of the Caribbean, David Abdullah, participated this afternoon in the Forum of the Americas as part of the International Event of Solidarity with Cuba. In a clear and firm message, he highlighted the solidarity and internationalist actions carried out by Cuba on the African continent and those that it is currently developing in the fight against COVID19, its fundamental exponent being the "Henry Reeve" Medical Brigade.

He also joined the voices of the solidarity movements with Cuba to demand the lifting of the economic, financial and commercial blockade maintained by the US government against Cuba.

In his final words he congratulated the Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez for having been elected as First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and sent a greeting to comrade Raúl Castro Ruz for having led this partisan organization for so many years. Finally, he highlighted the example of Cuba and the Revolution as a beacon of hope for the region and humanity in the eyes of the US administration.
