Port of Spain, February 22, 2021. Trinidad and Tobago's social movements join progressive forces worldwide to support the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize nomination for the Cuban “Henry Reeve” Medical Brigade.
In their letter, representatives of social movements and unions such as the Petroleum Workers' Union (OWTU), Movimiento Justicia Social (MSJ), Trinidad and Tobago Friends of Cuba Association, Trinidad Youth Council, Joint Trade Union Movement, Youth for Social Justice, Working Women for Social Progress, Millennium Sistahs T&T and the NGO Network for the Advancement of Women add their voices to the many others that have nominated the “Henry Reeve” brigades for the Nobel Peace Prize around the world. In the letter they highlight the condition of heroes and heroines who have been won on the battlefield for life and highlight the attitude maintained on the front line of combat against COVID19.
The promoters of this initiative emphasize their support for the work carried out by the Cuban Medical Brigade "Henry Reeve" in Trinidad and Tobago, describing the work carried out as a symbol of life, hope and peace for the Caribbean and the rest of the peoples of the world.
